The public increasingly expects honesty and authenticity from the media, what means that it is journalists, directors, producers and game developers who find themselves in the role of conduits of meaning.
Director Olga Azhnakina noted that the image of a "man of work", inspiring by his example, is increasingly in demand in cinema. Journalist Nikita Anisimov recalled the need to promote a positive agenda and talk about the achievements that unite people all over the world. Film director and radio presenter Silvana Yarmolyuk shared her experience working on films and radio broadcasts where the characters are simple compatriots whose fates touch the hearts of viewers and listeners.
The editor-in-chief of Prensa Latina, Ibis Brito, emphasized the importance of the voices of indigenous peoples and women. Yaroslav Meshalkin, Communications Advisor at Axiom Game Labs, recalled the impact of video games as a powerful new media tool. "Games allow you to live out stories and ideas and become a part of them," he said.
The participants paid special attention to the cognitive challenges of our time. Journalist Oleg Yasinsky stated the importance of returning spiritual meaning and cultural code to the media space, opposing the "information war for consciousness."
The panel session became part of a large media forum that took place on the sidelines of the World Public Assembly. The session is organized by the New Media Workshop.
Following the meeting, the participants agreed on the need for a constant international dialogue on the strategic development of media as a tool for serving society.
