IV International Contest "Leader of Public Diplomacy"

The IV International Contest "Leader of People’s Diplomacy" brought together public diplomats from 42 countries of the world. Australia, Argentina, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Uzbekistan, France, Sweden, South Africa, Japan are just some of them. Representatives of public organizations, volunteers, and community activists whose activities are aimed at implementing international projects and have concrete verified result reached the semi-finals of the Contest.

"The international Contest "Leader of Public Diplomacy" is one of the key projects of the World Peoples Assembly, which is being held for the fourth time in 2025. The Contest has become a unique platform for identifying and supporting active representatives of civil society who implement significant initiatives in the field of public diplomacy, intercultural interaction and humanitarian cooperation. Public diplomacy plays an important role in developing trust and mutual understanding between peoples, helps strengthen humanitarian ties and promote a culture of dialogue. It is civic leaders who unite people on the basis of respect, values of peace and cooperation that become the bearers of positive change", — Svetlana Smirnova, Chairperson of the General Council of the World Peoples Assembly, believes.
On September 20−21, in Moscow, 25 finalists will meet on the sidelines of the World Public Assembly. In the meantime, as part of the educational intensive, the selected participants will have to present their projects to mentors from different countries — winners of the previous years' Contest, and experts — representatives of the International Organizing Committee.

According to the results of the Contest’s application campaign, the largest number of applications were submitted in the field of "cultural diplomacy", followed by "school diplomacy" and "historical memory".
"The main result of the qualifying stage of the IV "Leader of Public Diplomacy" Contest is 42 countries and the strongest semi-final pool of practitioners. They are not just enthusiasts, but professionals in public diplomacy. Before the finals at the World Public Assembly in Moscow, they will have a unique opportunity to present their initiatives to the experienced mentors and experts of the International Organizing Committee and receive feedback. It is noteworthy that the cultural diplomacy field has become the leader in the number of applications, what underlines its key role in building bridges between people," - Natalia Zabolotskikh, project coordinator, President of the Eurasian Center for Project Initiatives, comments on the Contest.
All participants who have qualified for the semi-finals will receive email notifications no later than July 21 about the completion of the application stage.

The intensive educational course will be held online from July 28 to July 31. It will include the project protection, testing, and a final essay.

All participants and laureates of the Contest will have the opportunity to implement their projects at the international level under the support of the partners of the World Peoples Assembly.
