To the participants of the First World Public Assembly
Dear friends!
On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States, I welcome you, the participants of the First World Public Assembly, who have gathered to discuss topical issues of strengthening integration ties between countries and peoples.
The holding of such a representative event in the Russian Federation testifies to the significant role of the country in the development of interstate cooperation, the formation of a multipolar world order based on partnership, respect and common values, as well as in deepening intercultural ties.
The First World Public Assembly, held by the World Peoples Assembly with the support of the Russian Federation, as well as various Russian and international organizations, is certainly one of the important events of 2025 in the field of humanitarian cooperation on the Eurasian, African and Latin American continents. It is symbolic that its holding coincides with the International Day of Peace, established by the United Nations General Assembly.
Such events contribute to the further strengthening of cooperation between states in the economic, political, social and humanitarian spheres, the creation of favorable conditions for the dissemination of common humanistic values of peoples, including friendship, good neighborliness, respect for culture, languages and traditions of other peoples, interethnic and interfaith harmony.
The issues considered within the framework of the Assembly are consonant with the priority areas of cooperation of the member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Therefore, the CIS Executive Committee actively supports its activities and is open to cooperation on a number of topics and projects.
Of particular note is the theme of the current World Assembly, "New World of Conscious Unity," which includes a new conceptual approach to the unity of peoples based on joint service to peace and harmony, without which it is impossible to imagine a decent future for all mankind. This closely coincides with the declaration of 2025 in the Commonwealth of Independent States as the Year of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War - the Year of Peace and Unity in the Fight against Nazism.
I am confident that during the plenary session and panel discussions of the World Public Assembly, new ideas and initiatives will be expressed, specific projects will be proposed for interstate partnership, deepening political and economic ties, mutual rapprochement and enrichment of cultures of the peoples of the world, strengthening their spiritual and moral values.
I am convinced that the World Assembly will become a recognized international platform for discussing topical issues of concern to modern society, developing promising guidelines for economic and political cooperation, scientific, educational, cultural and humanitarian cooperation in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America, thereby involving other regions of the world in dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation.
I wish all participants and guests of the First World Public Assembly successful, fruitful work and all the best.
