News of the IV International Contest “Leader of Public Diplomacy”

Winners of the IV International Competition "Leader of Public Diplomacy" may be invited to the SCO Public Diplomacy Forum in 2026

This proposal was voiced by the Director of the SCO Center for Public Diplomacy in Uzbekistan, member of the International Organizing Committee of the Competition Kabuljon Sabirov during a meeting in Tashkent with the project coordinator, Deputy Chairperson of the General Council of the Eurasian and African Peoples’ Assembly Natalia Zabolotskikh.
As part of a working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, a delegation of the Eurasian and African Peoples' Assembly led by Deputy Chairman of the General Council of the Eurasian and African Peoples' Assembly, President of the Eurasian Center for Project Initiatives and competition coordinator Natalia Zabolotskikh visited the SCO Public Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan and met with its director, Kabuljon Sabirov.

During the meeting, issues of development of the International Competition "Leader of Public Diplomacy" and initiatives proposed by Kabuljon Sabirov during the press conference at TASS, timed to coincide with the launch of the IV Competition were discussed. Attention was paid to the search for effective formats of interaction with young people, and the upcoming events that are being held with the participation of the head of the Assembly delegation in Tashkent and on the initiative of the ANO "Directorate of the World Public Summit".
Kabuljon Sabirov noted that the "Leader of People's Diplomacy" competition serves as an important factor in strengthening mutual understanding between peoples at the international level, expanding cultural ties, ensuring social stability and peace. He noted that participation in the competition is not only a good opportunity for a deeper study of the role of people's diplomacy and its general significance in establishing peace and stability, but also assistance in expanding and strengthening contacts for effective dialogue between representatives of different nations and peoples.

The Director of the SCO Public Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan proposed considering the possibility of inviting the winners of the IV Competition as speakers at the SCO Public Diplomacy Forum in 2026.

The head of the delegation of the Eurasian and African Peoples' Assembly, the project coordinator, presented detailed information on the preparation for each stage of the Competition and shared the organization's plans for holding strategic events in 2025. She focused in particular on the preparation of the World Public Assembly, which will be held in Moscow on September 20-21 and will be organized by the Eurasian and African Peoples' Assembly jointly with the ANO "Directorate of the World Public Summit". During the meeting, special attention was paid to holding the business game "CIS Model: Humanitarian Cooperation through the Eyes of Youth" in Tashkent. This game is being held by the Summit Directorate with the support of the Assembly and the Presidential Grants Fund.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain close contacts, exchange proposals aimed at activating joint work, paying special attention to youth initiatives, their support and development. They agreed to discuss, in particular, the development of unique interactive formats of interaction with the aim of involving young people in promoting the common humanitarian mission. Culture, science, education and sports were also named among the priority areas of cooperation.

The Director of the SCO Public Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan personally conducted a tour for the guests and showed a photo exhibition revealing the breadth of connections and the scale of the events implemented by the Center’s team.
