Altai is a Source of Strength and Dialogue: Experts on the New Humanitarian Platform of Eurasia

Altai is not only mountains, steppes and the intersection of the borders of Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and China. It is the "junction of civilizational worlds", a spiritual treasure trove, the cradle of nations, where religions and cultures are intertwined, where every word carries a historical memory. Within the World Public Assembly, the participants of the Round Table "Altai as the Junction of Civilizational Worlds" discussed the future of the Eurasian Partnership.

Politicians, scientists, public figures and cultural leaders gathered on one platform to consider significant practices of cross-border cooperation, development of cross-border territories, and intercultural communication. Altai has accumulated experience that is extremely valuable for understanding and using it at the federal and international levels.

The moderator of the forum, Ivan Belekov, Adviser to the Head of the Altai Republic, Head of the Representative Office of the World Peoples Assembly in the Altai Republic, stressed that the main purpose of the meeting was "to draw the attention of the world and Russian public to the most important humanitarian issues of modern civilization."
"Altai is more of a historical and civilizational concept than a purely geographical one," said Anatoly Yegorov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, recalling the depth of heritage that this region gives to modernity.

Chairman of the Supreme Khural of Tuva Kan-ool Davaa recalled: "It is the territory of Tuva, Altai, Khakassia that is the cradle of the ancient Turkic nomadic civilization. This heritage helps to preserve the ethnic and national identity of modern peoples."

Alexander Zhirkov, First Deputy Chairman of the Il Tumen of Yakutia, emphasized in his speech: "It is time for humanity to move from the practice of building a world based on wars to a world of conscious unity, to a civilization of meanings."
The noospheric concept of Vladimir Vernadsky and his followers associated with Altai is gaining general civilizational significance in the modern world. Altai is associated with the origins of the activity of the thinker Lev Gumilev, who brought the theory of ethnogenesis to world science. Nicholas Roerich, who was closely associated with Altai, also did a lot to develop the humanistic ideas of Eurasianism. In the new context of forming the architecture of a "polycentric and polyphonic" world, their scientific heritage is able to help bring the existing world order into line with the inner nature of man, to ensure the further ascent of humanity to the humanitarian and technological stage of its evolutionary development.
Guzel Maitdinova, Director of the Center for Geopolitical Studies at the Russian-Tajik University, added: "In the context of the new Eurasian order, it is the civilizational approach that opens the way to the formation of sustainable, fair models of international cooperation."
Confirming the ever—increasing role and value of intercultural dialogue, co-creation and synergy of the Eurasian peoples in the new modern conditions, the session participants are based on the postulate that Altai is not only the keeper of the oldest layers of Eurasian culture. In Altai, an organic synthesis of the Eurasian cultural worlds is presented, which reflects their dominant features: polyethnicity and multiconfessionality.

The discussion showed that Altai is not only a geostrategic region, but also a symbol of unifying power. New ideas of humanitarian diplomacy, cultural co-creation and national unity are being born here. The meeting’s outcome is in the formation of the "Altai vector of Eurasian integration" — the spiritual energy of creation, which can become the foundation for the harmonious coexistence of the peoples of Eurasia in the 21st century.
