“CIS Model” united Students of the Commonwealth to develop Initiatives for Humanitarian Dialogue

On May 28, the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation hosted the Business Game "CIS Model: Humanitarian Cooperation through the Eyes of Youth". This Game participants (students) act as representatives of the CIS member states and simulate the CIS Heads of State Council meeting. Its goal is to study the rules and procedures of the CIS, gain practical experience in teamwork, reasoned presentation of ideas and search for compromises.

Both Russian and foreign students from the leading Russian universities took part in the game: RUDN, HSE, RANEPA, MSLU, GUU, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and MGIMO. They developed proposals on the topic "Youth of the Future: Vectors of Humanitarian Cooperation in the CIS".

During the defense of the countries' positions, the teams made proposals to create CIS network schools - educational institutions with in-depth study of international relations, hold environmental congresses, educational forums and a global youth media forum "Values ​​of Eurasia".

At the final track of the business game - a simulation of a meeting of the CIS Heads of State - the speakers spoke, immersed in the atmosphere of a real meeting. The high involvement of all participants was a clear indicator of their interest in the event.

All proposals of the participants will be included in the general analytical report for the CIS Executive Committee, which the project team is working on.

The organizer of the game is ANO "Directorate of the World Public Summit" supported by the Eurasian and African Peoples’ Assembly (EAPA), the Presidential Grants Foundation and the CIS Executive Committee.
The moderator and project manager is the Deputy Chairperson of the EAPA General Council, President of the Eurasian Center for Project Initiatives, political scientist and media technologist Natalia Zabolotskikh. She also announced that in September 2025, the Eurasian and African Peoples’ Assembly prepares to launch a series of unique games in a new format: "World Peoples Assembly", "Diplomacy of Happiness", "UN ECOSOC Meeting".

The Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergey Lebedev sent a greeting to the participants of the game. He recalled that special attention in the Commonwealth is paid to intercultural dialogue and the preservation of a common humanitarian space.

Vladimir Zorin, Chairman of the Commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation on Interethnic, Interreligious Relations and Migration, personally came to greet the participants and prepare for the Game. He spoke about the activities of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, shared his positive attitude towards such a format of interaction as business games and wished success in achieving practical results. Greetings and parting words were also sent by: Director of the SCO Center for Public Diplomacy in Uzbekistan Kabuljon Sabirov, President of the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan Association Banu Nurgaziyeva, expert of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, Advisor to the Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia Ruben Safrastyan, First Deputy Chairperson of the State Duma Committee on the Commonwealth of Independent States, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, member of the Presidium of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation on Interethnic Relations Viktor Vodolatsky.

The projects and the participants' leadership qualities were assessed by Petr Kurapov, a member of the Chamber of Young Legislators under the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, and Oksana Margiani, a TV journalist and "Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation".
Students from Armenia, Belarus, and Russia became the winners of the Game.

The "CIS Model" Business Games in 2024-2025 were successfully held in universities in Russia (Yugorsk State University, RANEPA, Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod), Tajikistan (Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Tajik National University, Russian-Tajik (Slavic) University), and Uzbekistan (Diplomat University, Tashkent).
