Today’s era is characterized by the rapid development of information technologies, which significantly impact the life of every member of society, including the realm of family relationships. Despite the obvious advantages of digitalization, such as the ability to quickly exchange information, access educational resources, and assistance in daily tasks, a number of serious questions arise regarding the impact of digital technologies on psychological health and interaction within the family.
Modern parents face challenges in controlling children’s behavior online, the need to foster critical thinking and a strong immunity to negative content in the younger generation. The need to develop effective mechanisms for information security, cultivate a culture of gadget use, and understand the boundaries of permissible behavior in the digital space is becoming increasingly urgent.
There is also growing concern about the rising number of cases of digital addiction among adults, which negatively affects the quality of real communication and emotional closeness within the family. Alarming signals about the generational gap are becoming more frequent, as older family members often lack competence in using modern devices and applications. This creates additional barriers to mutual understanding.
Currently, society and the state face the task of forming a comprehensive strategy aimed at minimizing the risks associated with digitalization and maximizing the potential of new technologies to improve relationships in the modern family. These key tasks will be the subject of discussions at the International Round Table.
